UX and UI design are my main interest and I have experience in them both from my own projects, as well as in my internship placements. I find this to be the most interesting and engaging branch that I enjoy working on the most. My Bachelors thesis for my Game Design degree also focused on a UX/UI topic.

Vigor

I worked on Bohemia Interactives game Vigor as part of my internship at the company and did my thesis as part of it. The thesis, Approach to multi platform game UI design, focused on solving UX and UI problems that arise from making a game for multiple platforms with different input schemes. As part of this I created a series of mock ups, established guidelines and rules for future designs and conducted a small user focus test. The whole thesis can be accessed in the Theseus archive here.

DayZ

As part of my internship I also did a design test task for Dayz. It included creating task diagram flows for the main menu and an action in game, setting out a simple UI guideline in line with the games design and creating a simple set of mock ups for the main menu and the in game HUD.  The whole task can be viewed here.

I worked on the mobile game Runegate Heroes as part of my internship at Nitro games in Kotka. My tasks included creating mock ups for various screens and elements in the game, like the player profile, battle logs and the match details views.

Arcanum Mortem

Arcanum Mortem is a personal ongoing project. I am currently designing the UI for the main part of the game, based on the established point and click and puzzle mechanics.

Space out!

Space out! was created as part of the 42nd Ludum Dare game jam. I designed the logo, the majority of the UI elements, part of the UX and an assortment of in game assets like background elements, the player spaceship and other 2D items.

More of the game can be viewed here ! You can also watch game play on Youtube!

Effects of UI colors on players

I was interested in UI and UX early in my studies so as part of my curriculum I researched the effects of different UI colors on the player. The research was purely theory based and the report can be read here.
